Week 2 – Classmate Conversation – Aubrey De Los Reyes

I was once again graced with the opportunity to meet a new face last Thursday (September 4th, 2014) during my Art 110 class period. Her name is Aubrey De Los Reyes and her positive demeanor made it a pleasure getting to know her.

Aubrey De Los Reyes, Pre-Nursing Major

To start with the basics, Aubrey is a 2nd year CSULB student like myself; she however has decided on a major, that being Pre-Nursing. Aubrey is committed to being a full time student and for that I admire her tenacity. I found out we both share the need to commute which I know is already interesting but our commonalities get even better!

As it turns out Aubrey was also a musician throughout high school so we both share a love of music and musicianship. Audrey played the flute in concert band in high school which, let’s face it, is pretty awesome. Her interest in the arts does not stop at music though! She also loves taking pictures on her polaroid camera and photography in general so I am positive she will have no trouble with our current assignment, in our shared art 110 class, of taking pictures from our adventures of the day. To continue and interest in art, Aubrey also likes to study historical jewelry, it simply fascinates her.

Outside of school though, this adventurous woman can be found hiking because she loves the feeling of being on top of the world. Some of her favorite sports are Palos Verses, Runyon Canyon, and a shared favorite : Griffith Park. She is up for adventure outside her backyard though as she had an amazing time in the Philippines over the summer. She smiled as she talked about how free she felt over there and even her adventure going zip-lining. She hopes to be in Japan this next summer with her family. Needless to say the adventures will not stop for ms. Aubrey De Los Reyes and I am fortunate to have gotten to be a part of them for a day.
